Machado 2+1

The Machado 2 + 1 Fin Set is Rob Machado’s Twin plus trailer template designed specifically for his most versatile hybrid yet, the Machadocado.

Starting from a more upright, performance template rather than a keel, this template enables tight turns and extreme control, while still providing the drive of a thruster. It has the glide and slide of a twin fin with the added transitional control provided by a small rear trailer, the Machado 2 + 1 Fin Set was designed to enable the freedom of Rob’s favorite fish with the control of his favorite thruster.

Perfected for what Rob calls “transitional moments” when transitioning from rail to rail, the Machado 2 + 1 Fin Set creates more controlled sensations when connecting lines than a traditional keel fin. “You can push the 2 + 1 in turns, and it will hold whatever line you’re trying to draw,” says Rob Machado.

Single Tab variants are compatible with Futures’ fin system.

Wave Type
Notable for it’s versatility over a wide variety of wave types, the Machado 2 + 1 Fin Set generates and creates speed easily in weak conditions because of the minimal drag provided by the small rear trailer. However with just enough surface area in the trailer to enable controlled transition in turns, the 2 + 1 Fin Set by Rob Machado provides enough transitional control to be considered an all-around fin set in waves knee-high to overhead.

Fin Template
The Machado 2 + 1 Fin Set is an upright template, as opposed to his best-selling Machado Twin Keel. This offers a more performance-oriented approach to drawing lines, and allows for tight arcing turns. Paired with the rear trailer, this fin set is the perfect balance of control and drive.
